What a weekend. Last week they predicted a big, scary hurricane named Florence was going to cause a lot of damage here. People went crazy buying bread, batteries, gas, and bottled water. Schools were closed on Thursday, Friday, and today. A lot of businesses were closed. We go back tomorrow.
All we got here is some wind and a lot of rain. No major flooding. Some people along the coast had severe flooding. Some of them sheltered in our school district.
On Saturday we tried to do a family bike ride in-between rain storms. We didn't make it. We hid under a store awning and Dad biked ahead home, got the van, and came back for us. Mom and Trent thought it was funny, but I was mad!
