S'More Fun

Last weekend was Mother's Day. I invited Mom to my school to have muffins. I also gave her a painting that my teachers helped me make.

On Thursday Mom helped in Alden's class room for a bit. She checked some math and realized that soon Alden will outpace her ability to check homework without a calculator. Then she went to lunch with Alden in the cafeteria. Alden won't eat melted cheese in a quesadilla at home, but Mom busted him doing it at school.

On Saturday I went to Matthew's birthday party. Then we went camping with some friends. We had fun with the fire, playing in the sand, staying up late, eating s'mores, and trading Pokemon cards.

Dad Cake

I had the last day of my 1st soccer class on Saturday. The series was at 8:30 a.m. which is just too early. I'm going to be starting a basketball class this week, and it is later in the day.

Daddy turned 40 last week. We made him a 3 layer cake. In the layers we put marshmallows and cherries.

Can You Dig It?

We had a big weekend. Friday after school we drove to a hotel in Virginia. Then the next day we drove for a LONG time. The traffic in Virginia and Maryland was bad.

We arrived to the Philadelphia area. Daddy and Alden went to a Barenaked Ladies concert (Alden's 3rd concert, but his first Barenaked one). While we were there, Mommy and I went to the King of Prussia mall, the second largest in the US. I got a big shark stuffed animal. I named him Sharkie.

Yesterday morning we went to a place called Diggerland. It is a construction themepark. Alden and Mom drove a backhoe loader.

Then we got in the car and drove for a LONG time.

Birthday Boys

On Saturday we went to a science day at the museum. We got to pretend to make medicine with some people who work at GSK.

Sunday was Grandpa's 80th birthday. We took him out to eat. We all wore Detroit Tigers or Lions gear. Then we went to Aunt Sue's for cake. Daddy got a cake too because his 40th birthday is later this month.

Signs of Spring

This weekend really felt like spring. We had an egg hunt and I helped Mom plant some flowers around the mailbox. By help, I mean I let her do it all while I played.

Science Fair

Last week was my first science fair. I was going to do it last year, but I was sick. So I recycled my project into this year.

I did my project on super absorbent polymers. They can absorb a crazy amount of water. A tiny bead can become nickel sized. They are used in things like diapers, fake snow, and water bead toys.
